Frequently Asked Questions
THE PROCESS
Am I signing up for an art class or a party? It’s a class that FEELS like a party. Bring your own beverage, and we’ll handle the rest.
What is More Chicks Painting instruction like? Our instructors are experienced artists who love to paint, love to teach, and want you to have a fun and enriching class. They’ll guide you step-by-step through the process of recreating the night’s featured painting from your own unique point of view. We provide all supplies, including art apron, acrylic paints, brushes and a ready-to-hang stretched canvas (typically 16”x20”).
What if I have no artistic ability? First, see FIBs and review The Chicks Creed. Now relax. Your instructor will support your progress throughout the session. We think you’ll be surprised by what you can do….
What if I want to paint something other than the featured painting?
Go for it! You may choose from a binder filled with copies of our original paintings and selected master works. You’re also welcome to paint the featured piece in a different color palette to suit your taste or décor. (If you do take a different path, please keep in mind we can give you pointers, but our focus will be teaching the feature.)
What if I already know how to paint? Excellent! Come join the party. Feel free to paint along with the group or take off in your own direction—you won’t be restricted in any way.
THE PARTY
Will More Chicks Painting provide food and drinks?
We supply light snacks, you bring your own beverage—wine, beer, liquor, soft drinks, coffee, tea, whatever you’re in the mood for. We provide glasses, corkscrews, openers, ice and ice buckets.
Can I sit with my friends? Of course—just let us know when you sign up in advance. If you’re walk-ins, we’ll try our best to keep you together.
What should I wear? There’s no dress code, but you might not want to wear your favorite jeans or shirt. While we do provide art aprons, you will be working with permanent paint.
When should I arrive? Doors open 30 minutes before class starts. We suggest you arrive at least 15 minutes early to get settled, pour yourself a beverage, socialize and relax before the painting begins.
How long are classes? Typically two hours.
Are More Chicks Painting classes just for women? No, no, no. We love men, and we’d love to have them paint with us any time!
How old do you have to be to attend? Currently, our classes are designed for older teens and adults. Please Connect With Us if you have any questions.
Where is your studio? We currently hold classes at several spaces, including the La Grange Art League in La Grange.
